Lived Experienced Peer Worker

At MIFANT, we understand the importance of connecting with others who truly grasp what you’re going through. That’s why we place such high value on lived experience and peer connections for those facing mental health challenges, as well as for the people who support them.

Our dedicated Lived Experience Peer Worker is based at MiPlace Mental Health Hub in Darwin. At MiPlace, participants can receive support from a peer who has walked a similar path, helping them work through their support and recovery plans and providing assistance to navigate the complexities of the mental health system.

Our commitment to lived experience extends beyond just one role. We have multiple staff members who identify as having a lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health issue or having experienced a mental health issue themselves , and they are available as a resource when you need someone to talk to, share your story with, or simply have a cup of tea with.

Our lived experience staff are here to support not only those who are living with mental health issues but also their caregivers and anyone who feels lost and unsure of where to turn or what steps to take next. At MIFANT, you are not alone on your journey; our team is here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
